A man is in custody after Claremore Police got a call about an armed person holding two people inside a home.
Police say the investigation started with a domestic violence situation in a house on the Southwest side of town. Officers responded and got two people out of the house, an older man who was not injured, and a younger woman who was. The female victim was taken to the hospital.
Police say the suspect was not at the home when they arrived and had left just before they arrived.
"So he wasn't in the house and officers developed information he was down the road. We went to that house, surrounded it and he came out without any problems, from a house just south of here," said Deputy Chief Steve Cox.
Police have taken the suspect in for questioning. His name has not been released.
